Myanmar U23s (white shirts) and rival East Timor created a dramatic chase at the Phu Tho Stadium. There was no shortage of tight balls from players on both teams.

U23 East Timor captain Filomeno Junior Da Costa did not hesitate to spar with his opponent even though the referee stepped in and stood close.

The reason is that the Myanmar U23 captain Somo Kyaw was fouled, making his teammates unable to keep calm. It happened in the 72nd minute, minutes after the U23 East Timor equalised.

The Myanmar U23 captain lay on the pitch, seemingly in pain, while the other players quarreled with each other.

After the intervention of the referee team cooled the fiery heads, the players of the two teams gradually regained their composure, and Filomeno da Costa took the initiative to reconcile with his colleagues in the opposite yard.

Before the game, coach Fabio Marcel da Silva was full of confidence in the ability of the home team. However, after 2 games, he gradually realized his mistake. After the first game, the team leader sighed: “After the 3-0 victory over Indonesia U23, I saw how strong Vietnam U23 is. They are strong, fast, and the game is close. Vietnam U23 and Group A have the most chances to lead. ”

Images from the evening of 7 May at Thien Truong Stadium were partially reproduced in the stands at Phu Tho courtyard. The East Timor players were enthusiastically cheered by a large number of local spectators.

Myanmar U23 created a lot of chances in the first half. However, it wasn’t until the 36th minute that the Whites scored. Naing Tun (No. 10) hits the ball accurately into the far corner of the opposition goal. Just 4 minutes later, Myanmar U23 easily doubled the difference. Goal counts after a fantastic goal by Lwin Moe Aung.

However, the white shirts suddenly let the opponent have 2 equalizers. In the 90th+6th minute, Aung Wunna Soe’s efforts paid off with a goal. Myanmar U23 won the opening match of the 31st Southeast Asian Games. In the first game, the team got a break.

This was the U23 East Timor’s second defeat in a row. There aren’t many chances for this team to win a semifinal appearance. In front of Fabio Marcel da Silva’s teachers and students, there are two opponents, U23 Vietnam and Indonesia, who are candidates for the gold medal.
