The Philippine women’s team won the Southeast Asian Championship.

The Philippine women’s football team defeated Thailand 3-0 in the final to become the champion of the 2022 Southeast Asian Women’s Football Championship.

Jessika Cowart, Katrina Guillou and Sarina Bolden took turns to score to help the home team to the title.

This is also the first time in the history of the Philippine team to win the Southeast Asian women’s football championship.

The best result for the Philippine women’s football team was fourth in the tournament in Vietnam three years ago.

It was a well-deserved return for the Philippines as they performed well in this year’s competition, which included a 4-0 victory over champions Vietnam in the semi-finals.

For Salina Bolden personally, the decisive goal against Thailand helped her become the tournament’s top scorer.

Meanwhile, the final defeat prevented Thailand from improving the championship record to five.

Previously, in the third-place match, the Vietnamese women’s team had to lose 3-4 to Myanmar – a 0-4 loss to coach Mai Dezhong’s team in the group stage and retired.

After the loss to Myanmar, Mr Mack took full responsibility for himself and said he would “refresh” the squad for next year’s World Cup finals in Australia and New Zealand.
