Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand are among the top soccer stars who have lost £25m after investing in an alleged fraudulent company . The England and Manchester United legend will not receive his money back after police close their investigation into the company.
In 2018, the Mirror said the company had attracted a £417 million investment from 589 sports stars.
Gavin Tyrrell, Director of Fraud Investigations for the City of London Police, told the Mirror: “We have launched a two-year investigation into allegations of fraud against several employees of Kingsbridge Asset Management. .”

Rooney has just lost money in the financial sector.
Police said victims lost hundreds of thousands to several million pounds. Former Scotland captain Colin Hendry announced he was bankrupt after taking advice from Kingsbridge and investing cash. The investors’ total loss was £25 million.
Representatives for Rooney and Ferdinand have been approached for comment on the incident. After retiring, many football players have decided to invest in other fields to satisfy their passion and make profits, but not everyone achieves the desired results.
