 Liverpool are said to be still monitoring Lille midfielder Renato Sanches, according to Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano.

Liverpool are still keeping a close eye on Lille midfielder Renato Sanches – but the Reds will not sign the Portuguese in the current transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.

 Sanches has long been noticed by Liverpool.

The Merseyside team has been seen as the right destination for the Portuguese midfielder since the summer after Sanches impressed at the European Championship. The value of the 24-year-old has increased in Europe in recent times.

Liverpool are reportedly keen to sign a new central midfielder since losing Georginio Wijnaldum to Paris Saint-Germain. But Romano said Liverpool will not sign Sanches before the current transfer window closes.

Romano said: “For the January market, I see Liverpool being quiet. They have filled Renato Sanches on their list since last summer. There are a lot of clubs interested in Renato Sanches. Lille don’t have one. plans to sell any players in January.”

“I am sure that Renato Sanches will remain on the Liverpool list going forward.

Sanches has scored one goal and provided three assists in 14 appearances in the French top flight this season. The Portugal international has played for Benfica, Bayern Munich, Swansea and Lille so far.
