AFF must apologize to Cambodian U-19s

The Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF), the organizer of the Southeast Asian U-19 Championship in Indonesia, had to write a letter of apology to the Cambodia U-19 team and the Cambodia Football Association.

Before and after U-19 Cambodia and U-19 Laos (July 7), the referee denied Cambodia’s goal, resulting in a 2-1 loss to neighbouring Laos.

The AFF has officially issued a letter of apology to the Cambodia Football Association for the team’s unrecognized goal when the ball was inside Laos’ goal line.

The AFF apologized to the Cambodian Football Association.

The AFF’s letter of apology was signed by its Secretary General Winston Lee (Singaporean) to Mr Keo Sareth, Secretary General of the Cambodia Football Federation. Unfortunately, the circumstances that led to the Cambodian target were not acknowledged, the letter said.

The AFC’s apology letter also thanked the Cambodian side for pointing out this mistake. The Cambodian side hopes that the AFC can correct it and make the game better and better.
